We are a team of programmers, machinists, designers and biologists based in Los Angeles California with the goal to remove the 80,000 tons of oceanic plastic waste in the Great Pacific garbage patch using 3D printed solar powered autonomous boats.
Our plan is to use industrial 3d printers and electric car parts to build plastic salvaging ships that can autonomously filter and remove pollution from the great pacific garbage patch.
Using 3d printers will allow the ships to be made from recycled plastic.
The motors and batteries will be from salvaged electric cars and electronic waste.
The ships will be powered by green energy, both solar and wind to maintain the ships power day or night.
The ships will be controlled by onboard computers allowing it to navigate along preplanned routes.
The collected material will be brought to Los Angeles were it can be unloaded in a port to be sorted and recycled into new ships and products.
Your support and contributions will enable us to remove nets and plastic from the Great Pacific garbage patch.
